5x5x5 in practice

in the classroom

5x5x5=creativity works in educational settings with children from different cultural, social and economic backgrounds and with different life experiences.

The artist sets up a creative environment with a distinct atmosphere and believes every child has something to say, to contribute. Following children's fascinations and provoking new thinking, the process is a true collaboration. Children are given the time and space to develop their ideas and also their relationships with each other and the environment. The artists and teachers nurture and value the children's responses. Through this recognition and gentle encouragement the children are empowered.

'What's brilliant about 5x5x5=creativity is that it respects the way children learn and values them as learners in their own right. At Twerton we have witnessed the direct results of this recognition: the children have learned more powerfully across all areas of the curriculum and made huge strides in their self-esteem.'
